Description

The water-based wood saturator AQUADECKS® will perfectly protect your wood against weathering. Whether it's for application on exotic wood or for protecting softwood, the saturator will provide protection to the wood while maintaining its natural appearance

Applied to the wood of your terrace, chalets, or garden furniture, the AQUADECKS® saturator will not peel over time.

Properties

It is essential to protect exterior woods from climatic variations and UV sensitivity. Thus, the AQUADECKS® saturator helps reinforce wood protection against UV rays, not only preventing premature deterioration but also avoiding blackening. Another property of this exterior wood saturator, AQUADECKS®, is that it promotes the preservation of the wood's natural appearance by keeping its grain visible. Ready to use, AQUADECKS® is easy to apply, dries quickly, and emits a very low odor.

Destination

One of the advantages of AQUADECKS® saturator is that it can be applied to all types of new or old wood. However, it is important to properly prepare the surface and remove any coatings before application. It is often overlooked, but it is essential to prepare the wood properly before protecting it. AQUADECKS® is suitable for exotic woods such as Teak, Ipe, Bangkirai, Acacia, Massaranduba, as well as softwoods like Douglas Fir, Larch, Red Cedar, Spruce, pressure-treated wood, and thermally modified wood.

Recommendations before application

The wood must be clean, free from mold, dust, grease stains, and any old coatings.
The wood must be dry (maximum humidity 18%).
Do not apply in direct sunlight.
Ensure that it will not rain within 12 hours after application. Beware of morning dew.
Protect anything that should not be treated.
Ensure that the wood is untreated and has not received any prior treatment with a water repellent, anti-crack, or color equalizer.
OWATROL Tip: Wood decontamination may be necessary; if needed, apply SANIXYL beforehand.

Application

Application is both easy and very important!

Ensure to protect anything that should not be treated, including plants.
When opening the container, make sure to thoroughly mix the product before and during application. The product should not be diluted.
For optimal application of the product under the right temperature conditions, we recommend a temperature between +10°C and +30°C. It's important not to saturate a surface in direct sunlight and very hot conditions.
Check the weather before proceeding with saturation to ensure that it will not rain within 24 hours. This is to allow for drying under conditions that will achieve the desired result on the wood.
Once all the previous points are confirmed, apply a generous coat of AQUADECKS® in the direction of the wood fibers and along the entire length of the board, paying particular attention to the ends.
The trick to remember when applying a saturator is to work in sections and finish at the end of the board or at a natural break, and not to let it dry between coats. Apply the second coat "wet on wet" after about 10 to 15 minutes.

If the wood absorbs all of the product, reapply until saturation is achieved. Once the wood is saturated, smooth out any excess product with a brush or wipe off the surplus with a lint-free cloth before drying. This step is essential to avoid any streaks or shine upon drying.

As a reminder, AQUADECKS® is a saturator, so it should penetrate the wood and not remain on the surface. The final appearance should be matte; any sign of shine indicates the presence of product on the surface and should be wiped off.

Maintenance will be easy as the product, being within the wood, will wash out over time, and the surface will not require sanding or stripping for renovation.
