OWAPHOS : Passivator, phosphating agent, deoxidizer

EAN :
  • Indoor outdoor Indoor outdoor
  • Outdoor Outdoor

Description

Deoxidize your ferrous and non-ferrous metals with the phosphating passivator OWAPHOS.

Properties

DUAL ACTION
Deoxidize and phosphatize → passivate the substrate:
• True chemical sanding that modifies the metal surface: chemical reaction that creates a fine layer of metal oxide on the substrate to achieve optimal adhesion of the finish on smooth substrates such as galvanized, aluminum, and also steel.
• Improved corrosion resistance of painted metals.
• Substrate preparation made easy: avoids tedious mechanical sanding.
Rust removal:
• Removes rust on ferrous metals (and drips) and white rust on galvanized steel, as well as oxidation on non-ferrous metals (aluminum, zinc, galvanized...).
• Wetting properties (easy to apply) that facilitate the breakdown of rust and lime.
• Restores the shine of chrome surfaces affected by lime.

Destination

Ferrous metals: steel, cast iron.
Non-ferrous metals: copper, aluminum, zinc, chrome, and alloys such as bronze, brass, etc.

Recommendations before application

• Protect anything that should not be treated.
• Work on a perfectly clean and degreased surface (with SOAPCLEAN* or using an organic solvent such as acetone).
• Rinse well (unless using an acetone-type solvent), and allow to dry.
• The surface must be completely dry before applying OWAPHOS*.

Application

Phosphatizing or passivating:
• Use undiluted.
• Apply OWAPHOS*. Let it act for at least 30 minutes.
• Rinse thoroughly without rubbing (to avoid removing the passivation layer).
Rust removal:
Dilution:
- 1 to 3 parts water for light rust.
- 1 to 1 part water for widespread oxidation.
• Apply the solution to the dry surface. Let it act for 15 to 30 minutes depending on environmental conditions. If necessary, repeat the operation.
Once the desired result is achieved, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry without rubbing.
DRYING AND COATING
After phosphating, passivating, and rust removal from metals:
• Apply a corrosion-resistant primer such as PID 60 as soon as the surface is completely dry, but no later than 8 hours to prevent re-oxidation.
• For stainless steel or other non-ferrous metals that you do not want to repaint, apply POLYTROL* to prevent oxidation pitting and give shine to the surface.
Coverage per coat 10 to 12 m²/l
